The laser-cut plywood blocks used in the installation “Digital Actions 1-67” (the visualizations of computer mouse movements) were inked and relief rolled into nine unique prints. The repetitive nature of the printmaking process allows Potter the freedom to slow down and contemplate each of her digital actions and their purpose. This is an important contrast the modern daily rhythm which is constantly interrupted by the immediate demands of digital interactions.

Each plywood object is a unique visualization of Potter’s computer mouse movements. Potter recorded her everyday use of programs such as Facebook, Adobe Illustrator, or G-Mail. Each mouse-movement’s size, pattern, and color was informed by the program used and the duration of time spent in each program. In the process, Potter observes how each interface informs a pattern of behavior. In the creation of this installation, Potter arranges the pieces into her own desired placement.
